finishing the film

Today we are going to finish the film to be ready for the peer review. Since the last time we were shooting I got a stain on that t-shirt so i couldn't where it. This means we will have to shoot all over again. We drove there after school and instantly went to were we where going to shoot. We set up, when the bugs started to come out. This wasn't the first time it happened. It also happened when we were filming last time and it was really annoying. This time we brought bug spray. We sprayed it on and got to work. I was still actor B and Nathan was actor A and Kendrid was the killer. The first shot was us walking on our phones like last time. The second shot was us walking straight pat the phone like last time. After this we started to talk about the party we were walking to. Next Kendrid went a little into the woods to shoot the next scene. We decided to this because it would look like we were in the killers point of view. Nathan and I then walked past and talked loud enough so you can hear us murmuring in the shot. Next the wanted poster would fly in in we will look at it and throw it away. After this was when the killer/Kendrid came in. Nathan would be tying his shoes while Kendrid was sneaking up behind him and killed him. I will then notice that he is gone and try and call him when Kendrid sneaks up behind me and kills me to. Then my mom arrived so we finished and I left.

Finally started filming

Today we were finally going to start filming. We are filming at Birch state park. We said to meet around 3:00 but I got there a bit late because traffic was bad. When I got there we found a nice shaded and kinda enclosed spot to start filming. To get our established shot one of us had to climb a tree. We had to wait for people to get out of the shot.  As Nathan was climbing the tree he cut himself. Luckily we had a first aid kit on the set. We put a bandage on it and continued on shooting. This means we had to wait for a couple of minutes to get the shot. After we got it we set up the tripod and turned on the camera. Again we had to wait for people. The bugs started to bite us to which was quite annoying. The first scene was me and Nathan walking past the camera. To make sure we got the shoes of the me and Nathan we had the phone on the floor. The next scene was the same shot but the me and Nathan were on our phones. The next shot was a bit different. Instead of starting with the shoes it showed me and Nathan walking. We walked right past the camera as if it wasn’t there on purpose.  The. The camera just showed were we walked from. Since we weren’t able to film everything today we decided to film the rest next weekend.  I think it was a successful shoot and hopefully there won’t be as much traffic and bugs next time.

setting up for filming blog

Today we are going to try and film. We haven't yet found where we are going to film. We are going to try film at holiday park. I think it will be a good place to film. It has a sidewalk with trees around. This is good because it set's up perfectly for a place where someone can sneak behind another person. It also will be a good place because we will also have people walking in the background sometimes to. This will make the movie bit more realistic. Since i'm actor A I will be talking to actor B. We had to make this look realistic and not setup. We had to reeshoot a couple times before the scene was good. Next I had to just walk and be on my phone. I didn't have to talk on that scene. We didn't really need to reshoot witch made this scene fast. Next scene I would start talking about a party. After I finished i will listen to what actor B had to say. Then we will both go back on our phones. While where on our phones I will stop ti tie my shoe. As i'm tying my shoe the killer will come from behind and kill. I will be out for the rest of the film. My job is over now it's up to everyone else to finish.

storyboard

For this part of planning for our film, we had to make a storyboard. The storyboard is basically a little sentence and picture of everything that will be in our film. The storyboard paper that we used has six boxes on each of them, and we used ten of them. Since there are 10 scenes in the opening of our movie, each individual paper is a scene. To help us out with forming this storyboard, we used our previous PowerPoint's. These PowerPoint's are the shooting script, sound script, and title blog. The shooting script was the most helpful one to use, because it was pretty much a storyboard itself without pictures. The sound script was helpful in letting us know what the characters say. The title blog was helpful in knowing what our titles will be. Storyboards are important because they make creating a film easier to do.

schedule powerepoint

New power-point today. This time were doing it about planning the schedule. If you don't plan then how do you know what to do. It shows where were going to film. We had many places to choose from but only two met our eye. Holiday park and Hugh Taylor Birch state park. these two places meet our requirements. This is why you need to know where your going to film before you film. If we didn't do this we could've been driving around for hours. This is why it's important to schedule and know when, where, and who you will be filming.

tiles powerpoint

Today we started to do a power-point. The power-point was on all the titles we will have in our film. This is helpful because when we need to add the titles to the film all we have to do is look at what we wrote and edit into the film. It consists of things like the studio and production company, actors and film title, music by and edited by,etc. It is important so people watching the film know who did what. This is helpful to the viewer if they don't know who the actor is. This is important because you need to give the people credit for the job they did. When people watch movies it is good to know who the Pearson is. This way if you like the actor you can watch more movies with him in it. This is why you need titles.

sound script

This presentation is the sound and dialogue script. It shows all the sound that will be in our film. Unlike the shooting script that we did earlier, this one is not as detailed. All that's really included is the dialogue of the actors and the sounds that will be heard. Even the little sounds like footsteps walking and wind in the background are included. One of the most important sounds of our whole film, which is music is also included. Just like the shooting script, the purpose of this presentation is also supposed to be some type of outline of our film. The sound script is important because sound will play a vital role in not only our film but, also most films. The dialogue of a film can provide clarity to what's going on in a certain scene,or even the entire film. The music of a film can help to create a certain mood. This presentation is like a rough draft, so some things may change.

shooting script.

This presentation is the script of our movie. It includes everything that will be going on in the opening sequences of our film. Each scene in the film is its own separate slide. All of the slides have its own detailed material. For the most part, the slides consist of whats happening in each scene, different camera angles and the titles. Including these things in the slides will make it easier for us to know what camera angles, movements and shots to use. Without those various camera angles, our film would be dull and bland. We are doing this shooting script, as a little outline of what the beginning our film will be about. Breaking the scenes into its own slide makes the process easier. What's on the presentation is kind of like a rough draft, because somethings may change throughout this process.
