storyboard.

Since I wasn’t their basically all that class I used Kendrid’s blog.

For this part of the music video process, we were assigned to create our  the making storyboards. We must use at least 15 boxes. The song that we will be using is "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong. Most of the lyrics of this song involves us to be outside in nature. The idea for this music video is for us to do the action of what the lyrics States. By doing this we must film different angles and movements and shots of what the song lyrics say. This has been the challenging part for us to do.As of right now we do not have angles and shots for all the slides yet, so for the ones that do not have them, when its time to film we have to decide on them on the spot. The storyboard begins with an establishing shot  and pan of a forest or wooded area. The second box is a pan of trees and a low angle of roses. That is all we really have as of right now, when we start filming we will decide on them. The angles, shots and movement will depend on the lyrics of the song. For this project the only sounds that will be heard are the song audio. We still could add some sounds like diegetic and non diegetic, but as of right now we'll just stick with the audio. There is no costume in our project, because our song selection is not like other songs where people must dance. Our song is about the wonderful things scene in our planet; a lot of the lyrics is things that are seen outside in nature. The only instance where there would be a costume involved is when in the song there is a lyric that says "i see friends shaking hands saying how do you do". for something like that we could have two people wearing dress clothes or casual clothes. As of right now we will not have costumes. The lighting of the music video will not be too much. The lighting will be natural: things like the sun and the moon that gives out natural light, will be the lighting design. The only acting that will be seen in our music video is the bit where the friends will be shaking hands and saying how do you do. And or the baby crying but that's not really acting. There will not be any makeup because once again there aren't going to be much people in our video, majority of the film will be shots of nature. No props will be needed for our music video. The setting will depend on the lyrics of the song, so if the lyrics mention a house then we would film in a house. So based on the lyrics majority of the settings will be outside which is where most of the filming will be done. We are excited to do this music video, the only downfall is that it is to be longer than the commercial we did which will take more time.

planning

First we had to choose a song. We came up with some ideas of songs but none of them were that good.We also had to think about what we were going to do if we used these songs. We came up with a song named creep. This song is about a boy who liked a girl. He thought the girl was like and angel and he was ugly like a creep. He didn't think he even had a chance with her. Our idea was someone would be the boy and we would ask a girl play the girl. We were still going to look for a better song though.  We asked the teachers if we were able to change songs. They said it would have to be a song within the same genre as the first one. We came up with a song called what a wonderful world. This is a slow song so we wouldn't have dance fast. It's about what he sees and and wonderful is. He talks about trees of green roses and how they bloom for him and everyone else. He then talks about the sky and how what a wonderful world it is. He mentions many more things and how beautiful they are and how we are blessed to see them. We began to think of what we were going to do for the song. That was kinda hard since none of us lived closed together. We also didn't have a camera. Then the teachers mentioned we borrow cameras from them as long as we return them and we don't lose them. Now one problem was solved so we only had one more. We agreed to meet at a park near the middle of everyone. We decided to do a park because it shows everything he talks about. Parks have trees and flowers and everywhere has the sky. It is also peaceful at a park and most people are happy they are there. We figured that we can show everything he talks about in the song. Since the park is a happy place it shows how wonderful the world is. This song is also kinda short. This is good because we only can use the first minute 15 seconds. Since he talks about so many things we will be able to use multiple shots and angles in the clip. Then we started on our storyboard.

We have just finished our commercial. So now we are going to we’re going to do a music video. I think the music video is going to be harder. For a music video you have to make it 1:15 to 1:30 seconds long. This is going to be challenging because most songs are normally 2:30 to 3:30 long. We will have to cut the song down to the bit that we like. We are also not allowed to use any songs that curse unless you use the clean version. You are also not allowed to use any theme songs. We are also going to have to film the song off of campus. We will probably have to get together on the weekend.

  The song we are going to loose for now is Creep. We are doing Creep because we will have lots of close up action and it will be kinda slow. This song is depressing. The song is about a boy who likes a girl. The problem is That the boy thinks that he is a creep. The boy thinks that he doesn’t stand a chance. The boy never comes to asking the girl because he thinks that he is to ugly/a creep. This song was made in 1992.

Costume. For costume we will be wearing school clothes and a tux and dress.
Lighting. We will use natural lighting for the video.
Actors. We will have jack be the boy/creep and we will a girl as the girl but don’t know who yet.
Makeup.We will not have makeup because we will natural lighting.
Props.We will have flowers and stuff to represent different things. Wager to act as tears or depression.
Setting. This will take place in a field or a park somewhere.

Editing again

Today we are editing. After the pinnacle studios wasn’t working the first time we got computers that had pinnacle studios on it. First we had to get all the videos on to pinnacle studios. After we waited a while for it to start we were able to edit. We dumped them on to the computer so we could import them. We went to pinnacle studios and pressed import. Then we checked all of the video us and pressed okay. We waited again. Finally it loaded and we began editing. We clicked on lots of videos to see which ones  we should use. After lots of searching we found the first video to use. At first the video was choppy but we just waited until it got smoother. Once it got smoother we started to cut the video to how we wanted it. After many looks at the video we finally find the best point to cut it at. After we cut it we watched it again to make sure it was good. After we did it again. Find the video. Cut. Watch and repeat. Then we did this until we had all the clips cut and added to the commercial. We watched the commercial and started to add transitions. We looked at a lot of transitions and finally found some. We chose one with a sun going past and cutting to the next clip. We also chose one where glass would shatter. Then since we were doing a Gatorade and Nike commercial we searched for there logos combined together. At first it was only shoes. Since it was only shoes we put logo in the search. Then it instantly popped up. We added it to the commercial. Then we added just do it and quench your thirst. After that it was basically time to go. We quickly found the font and the font size and added it. We watched one last time. We saved it and left.

Editing

Today we are editing. I was exited when I walked into school. I knew that we were going to edit today. When I came into class I joined my group. When it was time to edit we ran into a problem. There was someone using the computer we dumped on. We tried logging into a different computer I see if the folder would be on there. It wasn’t there so we asked them if we could quickly download it so we can go to a different computer. They said sure. The computer was very slow so we waited a while. When it was about to finish signing in it just turned black. You could move the mouse but couldn’t do anything else. I asked a teacher and she said she would be there in a bit. As we were waiting all of a sudden it turned on so we kept on downloading. As we were downloading it they said that the are row of computers that we were using didn’t have pinnacle studios. My group continued downloading while I grabbed a computer. We waited a while. While we waited the teachers said stuff about what we were supposed to do. They also talked about how pinnacle studios wasn’t working. Pinnacle studios is a editing software we use. As was worried that the computer we were using wouldn’t be working. As we were waiting they kept on calling people up to take a look at something. The computer finally logged in so we could start. We finished downloading the stuff a went over to the other computer. I started to get exited we were about to be able to edit. We clicked on pinnacle studios and waited. Since the computer was slow we waited for about 2 minutes. We waited all that time just for it to say that we needed the admin username and password. I was very frustrated. I went over to the teachers. They said that most of the computers weren’t working so we weren’t editing today. I was very upset but then just started on my blog.

Filming.

Today we were filming. Before class started everyone filled out a sign out sheet for the cameras. We did this so that once class started everyone would be ready to grab a camera and go. Once I got my camera tripod and SD card. I made sure everything was working before I went and filmed. Once I got to the track and was about to set up another kid asked me if I wanted to join him because his partner wasn't here and I was working by myself. We went and asked Ms. Marshioni (sorry if I didn't spell her name correctly) if we could work together. She said it was fine. Since we were both doing different commercials we decided to combine them. He was doing Nike and I was doing Gatorade. As we started setting up again Ms. Marshioni asked me if she could borrow my camera and tripod because another kids wasn't working and we had two. I gave it to her and we went back to setting up. We came up with an idea to combine our commercials together. The plan was for me to run up the bleachers and down. Then I was going to act tired and drink some Gatorade. I would say here have this to Kendrick my new partner. Then I will film him also drinking it. After I would say and put these on. I would show a close up of the Nike shoes. Then I will show him tying the Nike shoes with an above angle if that's a thing. The it will show him about to sprint. When he's about to sprint I will show him drinking some Gatorade and sprinting. When he starts to sprint and take off I will zoom into the shoes. We did the takes a lot to perfect the scenes. After we headed back to the media room to dump. Since we were there early we didn't have to wait for an SD card reader. I signed into the computer and that took a very long time. Once we got into the computer we inserted the SD card reader and went to the files. Since neither of us knew how to dump we asked MS. Marshioni and she showed us how to do it. We put it onto a file and named it. After we did it we returned the SD card reader and packed up. We waited for the bell to ring.     

Storyboard

 

My storyboard is about a Gatorade commercial and what i'll be doing in that commercial. First i'll set up my stuff. Then ill start to shoot. I'll shoot me sprinting up and down the bleachers. Then i'll shoot sprinting from side to side on the track. I'll then show a close up of me and the sweat and how tired I am. I will then drink some Gatorade. After to show me fully energized I will go and do what I did in the beginning again. Then it will cut to the Gatorade logo. I don't think I'll  follow my storyboard exactly how I have it but i'll try.
